Wolf Ride Environmental Learning Center
Wolf
Ridge Environmental Learning Center is a $13 million
project in Finland, Minnesota. Wolf Ridge is an accredited
residential environmental school for persons of all
ages.
Through a joint effort between CLP and Great River
Energy's (GRE) Economic Development Loan Program, we
were able to secure a $200,000 loan for Wolf Ridge.
Gaining no public funding, this loan assisted with the
construction of a dormitory for the students. Through
our affiliations with GRE, we were also able to offer
a $10,000 gift for a prior capital expansion project
and are pledging $30,000 over a three year period to
help fund the new Energy Lab.
Because of this funding, Wolf Ridge can continue to
expand and update it's learning facilities and teach
the communities we serve the importance of environmental
education. Wolf Ridge offers immersion programs which
involve direct observation and participation in outdoor
experiences and focus on ecology and science, human
culture and history, personal growth, group building
and outdoor recreation.
