Northshore Business Enterprise Center
The Northshore Business Enterprise Center (NSBEC) is
a $1.2 million project in Two Harbors, Minnesota designed
to offer small and expanding businesses a place to grow.
Through a joint effort between CLP and the Rural Economic
Development Loan & Grant Program, we were able to
secure a $400,000, 0% interest loan for the NSBEC. Without
this aid, the NSBEC would never have been a reality.
The funding assisted in the development of the center;
more importantly, it was an anchor to secure the additional
funds needed to complete the project.
This particular project has created a revolving loan
fund that is administered by CLP. This means that when
the NSBEC has paid back all or part of the loan, it
will go into a loan fund for future economic development
projects in the communities we serve. For more information
on obtaining funds from the revolving loan fund, please
contact Steve Wattnem at (218) 834-2226.
The NSBEC is ideal for Technology Companies, Light
Manufacturing, and Research & Development departments.
The NSBEC offers companies affordable space, technical
assistance, support services and a central location.
Through a partnership between NSBEC and the University
of Minnesota Duluth Center for Economic Development,
companies can enjoy the benefit of assistance with Market
Research, Business Planning, Loan Packaging, New Product
Development and Management Assistance. The building
is also equipped with such technology as T1 lines and
video conferencing for the companies to utilize.
